[Site24x7 All-in-One Monitoring] is used across the entire organization for web site monitoring, DNS record monitoring and AWS resource alerting and monitoring of event thresholds. Our business needs require application stack real time monitoring as well as APM insight to performance , Site24x7 [All-in-One Monitoring] allows us to schedule maintenance while keeping uptime stats for alerts, this is especially important to reporting, so your uptimes are not skewed for maintenance reasons. This and many other challenges are accomplished with [Site24x7 All-in-One Monitoring] tools. We also find it useful to script and utilize APIs to fully automate, and better control cloud resources.
  • Certificate monitoring
  • Drive space and uptime warning notifications
  • Cloud resource auto discovery options to keep new systems monitored immediatly
  • Scripting language options (AWS cli, PowerShell, bat, API, python, C, etc..)
  • Ability to edit an existing maintenance schedule, vs creating a new one each time
  • Grouping of emails to SMS and non SMS alerts to save on false alerts
  • Setup of Realtime user monitor was not as functional as expected with regard to adding 3rd party scripts.
I have tried other tools (PRTG etc) in the past, and switched from US monitor to [Site24x7 All-in-One Monitoring], for all the built-in features and ability to implement by using with or without the agents deployed (ip discovery LAN). This is one tool that encompasses the entire organization and allows that single pane of glass feel (NOC screen view) for an accurate virtual snapshot of your entire organization, either cloud and/or LAN.
  • Website app uptime is critical
  • Load balance auto scale monitoring is great to see when app requires more autogenerated systems
  • Disk drive and network activity monitoring and alerting is vital for system health via proactively alerts.

  • A cost effective solution for any size orginization
  • NO upfront cost or significant capital for adding physical equipment to acquire and maintain
  • Economy of scale, can fit any organizations budget, by simply adding monitor /agent packages on the fly (online purchase instantly available)
Manage engine had OPs manager for alerting and security monitoring alerts, but is just not as robust an offering as [Site24x7 All-in-One Monitoring] (RUM.APM features etc..). Originally we had used Nagios on low, to no-cost linux platform, but Nagios will require license also, as well as a physical hardware device or two.
Alos have tested/tried PRTG for single pane of glass, but did not provide as much for the cost as [Site24x7 All-in-One Monitoring] at end of testing trials.

Across our whole organisation, we use it for quite a few of our clients. We monitor web servers AND on premise servers.
  • The phone app is great - we often get alerts on that BEFORE we get the SMS message.
  • Root cause analysis and the traceroute when something goes wrong.
  • Generally an all round great product
  • To be honest, I can't think of anything!
Works well when the system is connected to the internet OR you have the ability to download their Windows app.

  • For the price it is just too good to NOT use - we have many happy customers.
Have had limited need for support but when we have asked questions they have been well covered.

We use Site24x7 to monitor our production systems, whether that be internal or public websites. Being a web-based company, it's imperative we notified of any system failures or performance degradation.
It is used by our IT department but its reporting facilities allow us to provide organization of our website's uptimes and performance.
While we've always had 24x7 monitoring in place by other products, we migrated to Site24x7 primarily due to the cost savings compared to other similar offerings in this competitive space.
  • Mobile App: this is perfect as an out of hours engineer, allowing us to respond to alerts within seconds at 2 am rather than minutes.
  • Cost: migrating to Site24x7 provided cost savings of over 70% compared to our previous solution.
  • Internal services: the internal polling for our internal systems allows extra visibility we didn't have before from a transaction perspective.
  • We do regularly get delays in email notifications. This hasn't caused any business impact, as SMS alerting has always been reliable, but can be frustrating to other parts of the business who want to be notified of issues as they happen.
  • Support: we have found the support to be quite unresponsive unless escalated accordingly.
  • The transactions recorder can be time-consuming to configure as you want.
The use case depends on your business requirements and how much you want to spend. Relative to other offerings, this allowed us to replace our AlertSite solution, which provided a big cost saving with no detriment to the visibility of our websites.
If you are looking for a full stack APM solution, this wouldn't be the all-in-one solution for your business, but it fits our use case of primarily transactional monitoring as part of our monitoring suite (for example, we also have the SolarWinds Orion suite) for our out of hours engineers.

  • Cost savings have been substantial at approximately 70%.
  • We do suffer delayed email notifications and regular locational failures from 24x7. However, this is easily overcome by extra locational checks.
  • Much quicker responses from out of hours teams with the benefit of the mobile app, which is user-friendly.
Each solution excels in their own areas. Site24x7 provides the easiest and most cost-effective transactional monitoring from the previous and existing solutions which we use. However, Solarwinds Orion suite, which includes the virtualization manager, gives us full-stack monitoring of our VMware environment, which Site24x7 cannot. In the same way, Cloudwatch gives us better visibility into our AWS workloads compared to SolarWinds.
AlertSite was previously used for our transactional monitoring, and while the configuration of transactions and playback with Deja Click plugin was incredibly beneficial, it didn't justify the cost difference to Site24x7.

We use it to monitor all the website we have here at WebCongress Inc. Also for certain clients.
  • Daily monitoring of websites.
  • Monitoring apps.
  • Monitoring servers.
  • Maybe just a better multi-client solution.
We mostly use it to monitor websites and servers to make sure they are always are in good health, up and running fast.

  • Definitely a good return on investment.
  • Helps monitor all technical aspects.
  • Ideal to make decisions.
  • Helps to gather great analytics and data.
site24x7 is really unique, I have been using it for many years and always recommend it in my classes. It is ideal for monitoring all web, apps, servers together in one place. Never let a website go down again.

Our organization uses Site24x7 to monitor our corporate websites, with a mixture of API, transaction and speed tests. Its used to provide performance data and alerting, which is probably the most important aspect as we're a 24x7 company, and our websites need to have high availability around the clock, for customers. The problem we were facing with our previous provider (Smartbear) was the cost and a decision was made to look for a cheaper banded solution that provided most of the functionality that our provider at the time gave.
  • Very clean website UI. Tests are well categorized and navigation is very simple.
  • The accompanying mobile app is very useful when on the go as it can also notify you of any issues.
  • The cost of the platform is very cheap and the cost also scales at a low amount.
  • No on-premise footprint. All cloud-based.
  • The support element, unfortauntely, leaves a lot to be desired. Issues logged tend to take anywhere from a week to two weeks to resolve and despite chasing and escalating, there is no reduction in the time taken and in some instances, no resolution.
  • The transaction recording technology based on selenium is poor. Its very basic and leaves a lot to be desired when trying to insert advanced checks.
  • There is no playback functionality attached to the web browser recorder. You have to rely on screenshots and only after you have uploaded the recording.
  • Having also sampled the cloud and server monitoring aspects they also provide, we found the features to be very lacking and not suitable for a medium to large enterprise company.
Site24x7, in particular, its website monitoring is suited to a small company with a small scale web backend with basic functionality. For large scale enterprise companies, it's worth spending the extra and going with a higher end solution. If you want support, then look away now. Despite the negativity, when it works, it does actually work well and does provide accurate data.
  • Positivity wise, we're spending a third of what we were on our website monitoring, this has allowed us to focus funding elsewhere (namely SolarWinds).
  • We have enhanced our core monitoring by now also being able to provide better coverage, whereas we were handicapped with our previous supplier due to the scaling costs of multi-step transactions.
  • The general feeling from our IT staff is that the platform is not great, which obviously reduces confidence in the ability for the platform to provide accurate monitoring data for our websites.
Simply put, AlertSite from Smartbear is a great product, with top-notch functionality. However, the cost of the platform when using multi-step transactions is incredibly pricey and the cost does not scale well when you want to increase your monitoring. Site24x7 alleviates the cost somewhat, however, you do get what you pay for, and the functionality is not on the same level as AlertSite. Pingdom, is a good, clean product, but it is not suitable for multi-step location-based website monitoring and it needs development before it can slide in with some of the big suppliers. Having evaluated Uptrends, we actually found their sales staff to be forceful and pushy, constantly trying to call us and email us, even after we had put an end to the trial. Site24x7 was the best product in a line of suitors.
